Czorsztyn Castle
The Castle of Czorsztyn, actually the ruins of the Royal Gothic Castle, dating back to the 14th century, is one of the two castles rising above the Lake Czorsztyn. It is undoubtedly one of the most interesting and the most mysterious tourist attractions in the region. A place worth visiting, not only because of its historical nature, but also for the opportunity to admire the beautiful view of the lake and the surrounding area.
Castle in Niedzica
Another castle on Lake Czorsztyn, called Dunajec Castle is located in the village of Niedzica. The building is a medieval fortress, which was built most likely at the beginning of the 14th century, in the place of the former fortification. The first mentions of it appeared in documents as early as in year 1325. Nowadays the castle is a museum, where you can admire old chambers, dungeons and all sorts of historical objects associated with a castle.
Open-Air Museum in Czorsztyn
Settlement of Czorsztyn is a complex of 31 architectural buildings available for visitors as an Open-Air Museum. The area of the whole settlement reaches almost 17 hectare. It consists of 9 historic guesthouses and villas, 11 cottages and farmhouses, as well as 11 stone cellars with wooden logs over them. All the buildings were moved from neighboring towns and are dated from the 19th and early twentieth century.
Cruise on Lake Czorsztyn
A cruise on Lake Czorsztyn is an attraction that every visitor of the region should experience. A cruise begins on the beach in Niedzica, near the Dunajec Castle and leads through lake's most interesting corners. During the trip, cruise passengers get to know the history of the water reservoir, which was build in 1997. It is a perfect opportunity to admire beautiful landscapes, including the view of castles in Czorsztyn and Niedzica from the perspective of water surface.
Water Dam in Niedzica
The water dam in Niedzica is an artificial water reservoir called Lake Czorsztyn. The dam itself, as well as the lake, was created in 1997, both having the function of a retentive tank. It was made to protect towns of the lower location during floods. Today, the dam is used as a hydroelectric power plant and it provides nearby areas with electricity. It is also open for visitors and guided tours are organized.
Horse Stud in Łopuszna
The horse stud in Łopuszna is an option for people looking for new experiences. Qualified staff of instructors will help during the first gallop or to improve the technique of individuals who have already had opportunity to ride horseback. For beginners, it is suggested to learn how to ride in the fenced area of the stud and for those who feel confident in the saddle, the landscaped rides on surrounding hiking trails are organized.
Spiska Kraina amusement park
Family amusement park Spiska Kraina is a place full of attractions for visitors of all ages. Children, of course, will enjoy it the most but parents will also find something interesting for themselves. There are numerous attractions including: inflatable castles and fortresses, slides, obstacle tracks and rafting. In Spiska Kraina there is also a rope park with three routes to choose from, distinguished by the level of difficulty and two theme miniature parks, where you can admire for example the most popular monuments of Podhale, Orawa and Spisz regions.
Toboggan run in Kluszkowce
The gravitational toboggan run is a downhill ride with speed up to 35 km/h. The run is located in the ski resort Czorsztyn-ski in Kluszkowce, where you can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding areas including Lake Czorsztyn. The entire run is 1000 meters long with an average slope up to 12% and the total difference in levels is 84 meters.
Rental of pedal boats and canoes
There are several docks in the Czorsztyn Lake area where you can rent equipment such as pedal boats and canoes. It is a great idea for sunny days, especially since the whole lake and its surroundings are really picturesque.
Raft trips through the Gorge of Dunajec River
The Gorge of Dunajec River is a real showcase of this area. It is considered one of the most beautiful breakthrough of river in Europe. The famous stretch of the Dunajec River flows through the picturesque Pieniny National Park at the foot of Three Crowns. The best way to experience this beautiful place is to go rafting on traditional wooden raft at the company of a local rafts man. There are many sharp turns and bends on the stretch of about 8 kilometers, and surrounding rock walls reach up to 300 meters. The trip starts in Sromowce Niżne to finish in Szczawnica after about 2 hours. Along the way tourists enjoy beautiful landscapes and listen to tales and local legends told by rafters.
